Just for Matches

One thing that makes BBBS's mentoring program unique is our ongoing commitment to you, our customers — volunteers, parents, & youth through our match support services.

With today's on-the-go lifestyles of many of our volunteers and parents our Match Support Specialists are experiencing difficulties in maintaining regular contact. In an effort to remind participants of the benefits of keeping in touch with the agency our Match Support Specialist provide the following benefits of staying in contact:

Parents:

1. To discuss the various ways that we can help boost your child's academic performance, self-confidence and general competencies.
2. To receive assistance with various issues through community referrals.
3. To discuss ongoing safety awareness for your child.
4. To talk about upcoming agency match activities (if your child's Big is unavailable you can participate with your child).
5. To maintain your child's enrollment status.

Youth:

1. You can tell us how "cool" your Big is.
2. You can get free stuff.
3. We can let you know about fun activities that you and your Big are invited to.

Bigs:

1. To discuss the good and the not so good things happening with your match.
2. To gather information and suggestions for making the match a positive experience for myself and my Little.
3. To keep informed of agency match activities.
4. To talk about safety awareness and the well-being of my Little.
5. To receive free or discounted tickets to restaurants, games, plays, etc. for myself and my Little.

*The role of the Match Support Specialist is to ensure a positive match experience for all. We are working hard to meet your expectations as well as the standard of required contacts set by our national organization. We are here to help, support, and encourage. We are making every effort to be as least intrusive as possible, we understand busy schedules and conflicting responsibilities. Our role is not to pass judgment or make anyone feel guilty, but to protect the interests of all involved.
